Career Camp
Career Camp is a program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ages 14-21). Participants learn job-readiness skills, explore different career options, and gain self-advocacy tools to help them thrive in the workplace.
Career Camp
Career Camp is a collaborative community partnership between business partners and Magnify staff. The camp was designed to help those we serve to gain the knowledge and tools they need to explore careers in the hospitality and healthcare industries. Through work-based learning, job readiness training, job exploration, and self-advocacy activities, participants will be able to develop important skills to transition into meaningful employment. Participants have the opportunity to choose between live virtual camps or in-person camps on location, and camps are scheduled throughout the year coinciding with school breaks.
Career Camp Benefits
Our Career Camp program is different because we look at the person first. We look their skills, abilities and potential. We then work with them to find the best match for their gifts and talents. Through its innovative approach, Career Camp is expanding the definition of what it means to be employable and raising awareness about the valuable contributions that people with disabilities can make in the workforce. By providing inclusive career development experiences and promoting accessibility to job opportunities, Career Camp is helping young people with disabilities tap into their God-given gifts and realize their full potential.
